Your houseboat slides water supply needs to be winterized as well as other key components on your boat. To winterize your slide locate the slide 12volt pump in the engine room. If you're not sure what or where it is turn it on and listen for it. Once located turn it off. Yours either has a filter basket or is simply plumbed into a stand pipe for water supply from the lake. If yours has a filter basket located by the standpipe supply remove the top off the basket. If this standpipe has a shut off valve shut it off now. Using marine antifreeze turn the slide pump on and pour the antifreeze in the basket top allowing the pump to replenish the existing water with the antifreeze keep pouring and have your mate tell you when the pink stuff is running down the slide. Turn the slide pump off and finish filling the basket with antifreeze and replace the top. That's it for that one. Now if your boat doesn't have a basket style inlet and is plumbed directly to a stand pipe here's what to do. Same as above if yours has a shut off valve there shut it off now. Remove the plastic supply hose coming from the pump at the supply stand. Pour antifreeze into a bucket and insert the removed end of the hose into the antifreeze. Turn the slide on and have your mate tell you when the pink stuff is coming down the slide. Turn the pump off and reinstall the hose to the standpipe. That's it and you're finished.
