Winterize Houseboat Roof or Deck Bar

If your houseboat has a roof or deck bar and has a sink with running water it has to be winterized. Some new boats have a water supply manifold system inside the cabin to manage this with. Consult you manual to see if yours has this feature and if it does follow its instructions. If yours doesn't have a manifold system simply turn off your water supply to the boat.  Make sure your 12volt supply system is turned off as well. Go upstairs and turn both hot and cold faucets on. Go back inside the boat and turn on the hot and cold faucets in the kitchen area.  You should find the water will drain down from upstairs into the sink.  Once the faucet stops draining go back upstairs and shut off both hot and cold faucet knobs. At this time pour some marine antifreeze down the drain to replace the water in the trap with antifreeze. 16oz should be plenty for this.  Now go back downstairs and turn off the faucets in the kitchen.  Turn the water supply back on and you should be okay.

Uncle Ricky says other than running up and down stairs this one is simple.
