Storing houseboat Enclosure Tips

Each year we go through the ritual of taking down and putting up our deck enclosures.

The first thing to do here when taking down is to not store dirty canvas and or plastic.

Having said that we want to protect them.  Get some old sheets to use when you start taking them down.  Lay out the sheet and place the section of enclosure on it.  Roll it up and the sheet will separate the plastic from touching. This will prevent them from sticking together and causing damage. It's not a bad idea to mark these as you go so next year you know more than him as to order they go back in. Continue removing and rolling and store away.  Take caution not to fold any of these.  Stack them carefully in a safe place.  You don't want anything else stacked on them.  Remember these will most likely be stored beneath the boat and during the summer it gets hot down there.
