Saving Generator Fuel

The fall is a great time for houseboating. The trees are in full color and the air is cool and crisp. Your generator has worked hard all summer its time to give her a break. Open the windows and doors and let the clean cool air in. Only run the generator when necessary for cooking. This will save you over a gallon of fuel an hour while being out. This works just as good in the summer as well. Try to plan meals that can be cooked entirely on the grill outside to avoid heating up the cabin.  Evenings I turn the temp down and get it nice and cool inside. I then turn it all off. Leave the doors and window shut until it starts warming up in there. I then open the windows and doors. Turn the ceiling fans on and enjoy the cooler evenings.  Give it a try I'm sure you will find the savings worth it.
