QUESTION:
Do you have any thoughts on the latest GPS/Fish-finder Combo units? I'm looking specifically at the Garmin GPSMAP 535-Dual Beam Combo-Internal Antenna unit. JTH Marine Electronics has it for $840.79. Do you like any others? Any tips on mounting the transducer? I have never installed one. Thanks for your time! Mike
ANSWER:
WOW!!!! Mike that must be one really nice piece. Unfortunately this type equipment is greek to me. I would assume that the transducer installs much like any other. Most transducers mount directly to the hull using silicone. NO HOLES DRILLED in the hull...... I have however seen them mounted to the inside of transoms. In this case it is okay to drill and secure with short screws. I'm sure the unit will come with straight foward installation instructions. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help with this.
