Question from WebSite - 3/23/2009
QUESTION: I've recently purchased a 1975 Captain Craft 40' Houseboat "fixer-upper" and want to ensure the plumbing and electrical systems are properly setup. where can I get a Good layout/schematic diagram for both plumbing and electrical systems. Are all Houseboats "Basiclly" the same?
ANSWER: I would check with the manufacture about the wiring or consult an electrician. As far as the plumbing I would doubt you find much on it because it is generally installed as a this goes here so we need that to go there senerio. Most houseboats are basically plumbed and wired in the same fashion. I would take a hard look at the black water holding tank and if it's made from aluminum I would consider replacing it with plastic due to corrosion. Thanks and I could be of futher help please write.
