Question from WebSite - 2/27/2009
QUESTION: I have a stainless steel blackwater tank. It doesn't have a monitor guage. What would you recommend me to add on?
ANSWER: I would first of all recommend changing out the metal tank for a good quality plastic one. This is because human waste is corrosive and will eat a hole in the metal tank sooner or later. I wrote an article on this very issue that happened to a fellow boater friend of ours. We converted his over to plastic. Geeezzzz he had a real mess. Literally!!! Now for the metering on the tank. Their are several company's that offer transponders and guages for this purpose. Bobby they work like a depth finder but specifically for this application. Go to google and search waste tank gauges and I'm sure you will find multiple options. Thanks for asking. Uncle Ricky
