Houseboat Party Top
If you have a canvas party top you probably have noticed it is very hot under it in the summer sun. You might even notice that it leaks water through it. I got to thinking about a way to beat the heat and stop the water from seeping through. I got on line and ordered a white tarp that was the same width as our party top. I had to order two of them so I could overlap them and have them cover the entire length. We removed the original canvas and strecthed the new White Tarp over the structure. We used zip ties to sucure it in place down both sides. Care was taken to assure we had no wrinkles. We overlapped the second tarp approx. 12" and continued on to the front of the party top structure. We then re-installed the canvas back to its original positition. WOW!!! This made such a nice addition to the underside of the party top. Nice and clean looking and greatly reduced the heat. And you guessed it no more water seeping through. Since Merri and I did this upgrade 5 others on our dock have done the same with fantastic results. I took an infa red thermometer and checked the temp inside the canvas before and after. Before the temp was 151 degrees and after the temp was 130's Thats a very big difference.
This is a very inexpensive upgrade and is really COOL!!!!
Uncle Ricky says you need to do this one...
