Merri and I where having issues with our canvas party top leaking when it rains.  Mind you this party top is only a little over a year old and is sunbrella.  We also found it uncomfortable being up there during the day due to the heat radiating through the black canvas.  We found ourselves brain storming trying to come up with a solution. We came up with a posible fix and tried it. We are happy to report that it not only fixed the rain issue it greatly reduced the temperature up there on these hot sunny days.  So here is the fix!!   Measure your party top and go on line and find a tarp company that has WHITE tarps. Pick one that closely fits the measurements of your party top. You may need more than one. Our top is just over 50ft. We had to use two.  Remove you existing canvas and lay the tarp over the structure making sure you tie it down tightly with no wrinkles. If using more than one tarp simply over lap one over the other a bit and continue on.  Reinstall your original canvas over top the newly installed tarp making certain it is as tight as possible. Your finished.  I will get some pictures posted soon of ours so you can see the end result. It actually made it brighter under there and much cleaner looking. The temperature difference was immediately noticed and we also had our share of rain since the installation. Our dock friends David and Faye have already done theirs and had the same results. It was great to be high and dry. Another added benifit was the sound of the rain was amplified almost like a tin roof. You will just love it.  We do !!!
