Marine Houseboat Sound systems

Most boats have a central sound system with remote zone switching.  This is fine if you don't need to turn it down or change venues.

Here's a very inexpensive fix for this.  I bought an am/fm/cd/ i-pod unit at a local Wally World.  Cost $80.00

I cut a rectangular hole and mounted it in my locker.  I ran the power feed wires through the floor of the locker and attached to the 12v battery in the engine room.  I mounted a triangular shelf under it to hold cd's and the i-pod, remote etc.  I hooked up an antenna and wired the head to the existing deck speakers.  If you don't have any there you could purchase good outdoor mounting  speakers and wire them in.  Sit back and relax and enjoy what you want when you want and not have to go inside to do it.  This same thing can be done on the bridge as well as any other place you wish.  My cost was under a $100.00 and took about two hours to complete.  I love it!!!  And it looks pretty awesome to boot.

Uncle Ricky say's it's as simple as that.
